Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A few days ago I began feeling irritation when I wiped after urinating. In the shower I felt a small bump and investigated it with a mirror. I have a small canker sore looking ulcer on my vulva. It doesn t itch and there is only pain if urine crosses over it while using the bathroom. My last sexual partner was 3 and a half months ago and we used protection. I went to my gyno and she immediately said it was probably herpes. There is only one spot and it was never a blister and it doesn t really hurt. Is there anything this could be other than herpes?
Since your gynaecologist have already seen and looking at your description chances of herpes very likely.
Another possibility is inflammation of the hair follicle and crack or ulcer may be due to ingrowing of hair.
I would advise you for a battery of tests like Blood for CBC, ESR, CRP and serological test for herpes and urine culture.
Meanwhile clean it with antiseptic soap or solution and apply antibacterial ointment to avoid suoeradded infection and further spreading. Maintain good hygiene Drink plenty of fluids 3 to 4 liters of day. Best wishes
