i have never been a sickly person but i have had a scare on the 19th of october. went to the dr right away. he made a appointment for me,so far no one has called me.on that day i had bleeding from the rectum. ihave not had any today but i havenot had a bowel movement . the one i had was like turning on a faucet.do know what this os? Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. I can understand the concern on having blood in stool. The commonest causes of bleeding from rectum are: Hemorrhoids or piles as they are commonly called as. Polyp, ulcer, mass such as cancer also can cause bleeding per-rectum. The only way to be sure is to consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination called digital rectal examination that is DRE, anoproctoscopy to begin with and a confirmatory colonoscopy. Till then do the following: Sitz bath in a tub with warm water. Take a laxative to have smooth stools. High fiber diet and plenty of oral fluids.
Hi thanks for your query bleeding may be due to anal fissure,rectal ulcer,rectal prolapse or constipation. its better to consult a surgeon and get examined. thank you.
