hi doctor my wife is 28 year old height is 5:6 she is pregnent and complete first trimester now she had usg and report says placenta is anterior, extending to lower uterine segment lower margin is reaching up to os. Placenta shows grade 0 maturity.. Placents is low lying covering internal os at present... Pregency of 13-15 weeks ....plz advice i m worried
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion placenta is usually in upper segment of uterus. In your case it is lower segment and covering the cervical opening or os.So this might cause problem like bleeding during pregnancy. But usually in 90% placenta moves to upper segment by 24 weeks. So dont worry.Presence of placenta on anterior wall is normal and doesn't cause any problem. But till the placenta goes up you should be careful.Take good rest and avoid physical strain and intercourse. Best regards..Dr.srilatha
