What Does Anteverted Uterus With A Single Irregular Gestational Sac With No Obvious Yolk Sac Or Foetal Pole Indicate?
I am 8 weeks 0 days pregnant. I had a transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound today. They found an anteverted uterus with a single irregular gestational sac with no obvious yolk sac or foetal pole. I have been booked for a rescan in a fortnight to confirm viability. What does this all mean in plain English? Could this be bad news?
Hello, Wellcome to HCM There is a possibility that you are having blighted ovum. In this case there is abnormal fertilisation which is incompatible for development of foetus. This condition need to be confirmed with a repeat scan. A normal pregnancy at 8 weeks should show metal pole and that gestational sac should be regular. Hope my answer helps.
