What Does Antigen Ratio Of 1:60 And 1:80 Suggest ?
Hi Dr. Samuel,
I had typhoid fever one 1.5 months ago. I took antibiotics Ciprocine for 2 weeks and then Azithromycin for next 2 weeks. Right now every thing is perfect. I am good in health without any symptoms. After a month of recover my doctor suggest me to check the antigen level (widal test). when i did widal test i found that the TO antigen ratio is 1:160 and the remaining is 1:80. Can you please let me know what it indicates, is it positive still? What should i do next? Should i take any drugs?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Widal titres more than 1:160 should be suspected to have relapse of typhoid. If the titres are less than that and if you are asymptomatic, then there is no need to worry. Hence there is nothing to worry about and you can relax. Have nutritious and healthy diet as usual. Hope the information provided helps. Wish you good health. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
