What Does Aortic Root Ascending Aorta Are Dilated Indicate?
Hi my wife had a Echo cardiography test. All is normal size and dimension, except I do not understand when the say the mitral valve is normal structurally with trace regurgitation. The aortic root ascending aorta are dilated. There is mild clear pericardial effusion 1.3 deep? what does it mean? My wife gave birth recently and she had c-section and her her blood preasure was high. As a result after c-section she devolved water in her abdomen, legs, almost all over body. The dococtor said she has highpertension and lasix injection was prescribed. Thankfully all the water is clear. Can you please advice. Thank you.
Hi, Echocardiography is a technique by which the heart structure, and flow across the valves are evaluated. The mitral valve connects the left sided chambers and at elderly age a slight backwards flow of blood called trace regurgitation is acceptable and might be considered as a part of aging.
The aortic root is dilated signifies arterial stiffening, afterload changes, cardiac remodeling, and the development of heart failure is some cases. This talks about the heart dynamics.
Pericardial effusion is fluid present outside the heart and this can also happen due to heart problems. Please discuss with your doctors the diagnosis based on clinical findings and echocardiography.
