What Does Avascular Ovoid Nodule In The Below Report Suggest?
Hi badly needed to interpret UTS : Thyroid gland Right lobe 4.2 × 1.4 × 1.5cm Left lobe 4.6 × 1.3 × 1.5cm Isthmus 0.5cm thick There is a 0.3 cm cyst in the right lower pole A fairly defined solid hypo echoic avascular ovoid nodule is seen in the left upper/mid region. It s long axis is parallel to the lobe measuring 0.4cm. No calcification noted. The rest of the parenchyma is heterogenous in echo patter. Vascularity is within normal. Normal sized thyrpid gland with diffuse parenchymal disease, right lobe cyst and left lobe solid nodule.
I have gone through your query, i will try to give you suggestion which will be helpful to you. Your ultrasound report suggests there is a cyst and a solid nodule in thyroid. This could be part of colloid goitre or multi nodular goitre. Solid nodule needs to be evaluated. I advise you to get FNAC to rule out any pathology.
I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. I will be glad to help you in case if you have any further queries.
Wish you speedy recovery. Take care
