What Does Backache Along With Low Grade Fever Indicate?
Hi, I have had diverticulitis and a colan resection about 9 years ago. My symptoms are lower back ang groin pain occasionally a low grade Feaver and when I breath in deep I feel heavy chested and cough. I also just had a bout of diarrhea with an upset stomach after a large meal. Also I have been feeling mild flu like symptoms this past week.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Lower backache, chest congestion, cough, fever etc are mostly suggestive of viral upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) like flu infection. So drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day. Take Paracetamol tablet twice daily. Usually viral infection improves after 4-5 days. So wait for 4-5 days. If not improving then consult doctor and get done blood reports.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
