What Does Bilateral Concha Bullosa In A CT Scan Indicate?
My nose have been stuffed for a month never a problem before this month. it switches sides every couple of hours but when my right side is stuffed it hurts just had a ct scan done it showed I had bilateral concha bullosa with a air pocket in it it’s driving me crazy I know I’m gonna need surgery but can’t afford it it has ruined my life is surgery the only option?
Noted the history of stuffed nose for one month and the CT scan showing concha bullosa. Concha bullosa is a condition in which the middle turbinate of both sides of nose enlarges due to the air being trapped and elanging the air space in these turbinates. This causes them to enlarge and block the nose. This enlargement is permanent as there is bone covering that can not be reduced by the medications. Hence the need for surgery. This is a small surgery and the results are great. Hence go for it asap. Rest of the treatment is medical in the form as needed on nasal endoscopy and clinical evaluation by your ENT Surgeon.
