What Does Bilateral Extrarenal Pelves In A Radiology Test Indicate?

Radiology test shows bilateral extrarenal pelves, should I be concerned? What can I do to help it? Also, I have difficulty passing urine due to uterine prolapse. My OBGYN says the prolapse also involves the rectum. Pessares are painful and don t work. I have AF and take Warfarin, so surgery is not recommended. I live in pain for years now, but is there a danger, If I don t address the condition radically and let it run its course? Thank you, Lisa E.

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The report suggest there is extra renal pelvis - which means the pelvis is seen dilated but no obvious cause was identified.
2.In this case the possibilities can be extra-renal pelvis. But i think you need to get more test to identify the underlying cause.
3.I would suspect any uterine lesion causing the ureteral obstruction and causing the dilated pelvis and calyx.
4.Ultrasound itself is not enough to evaluate the condition. First KFT - kidney function test, then IVP to evaluate the kidney function and ureters status.
5.MRI will be best to evaluate and delineate the anatomical delineation and underlying cause.

Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query,
