If it was bright red then it is due to nearer parts which mean may be due to straining or due to hemorrhoids which can be treated easily. If it was altered maroon colour then it will be higher up in the intestine for which we need endoscopy or enteroscopy to diagnose what is the pathology. So you evaluate what you have and if these episodes recur then you go for a general examination of the rectum by proctoscope which can’t be done through online consultation.
