Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 50 years old female menopausal. Haven t had a period in over 2 years and now have had it for the past 21 days. My family doctor put me on hormonal pills for 14 days. I have had a ultra sound done including a internal to check my ovaries. No results have come back as of yet. I have been experiencing bloating abdominal pain, weight loss, very tender breasts/nipples, diarrhea but my eating habit have not changed. My mom and sister both had a hysterectomy. (in 2013 I had cysts on my ovaries but went away on there own) Would I require a hysterectomy with the trouble I am having as well? Am I able to request one to be done since I have gone through the same thing in 2013?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The hormonal imbalance in menopausal phase leads to irregular and profuse bleeding. The hormonal supplement given can have bloating, breast symptoms. You can take Gynae C.V.P 2 caps three times a day. Hormonal therapy or surgical cutting of uterine lining can help. If there is no response. you may need hysterectomy. Let your treating doctor decide it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
