What Does Bleeding During Pregnancy Indicate?

hi my girlfriend is in the hospital because she is pregnant and bleeding. the ultrasound showed that she is 5 weeks pregnant with twins, however the md said he is not sure if there is anything in the sacks being that it is so young. they did a blood test on Monday and her hcg level was about 13000, they did another one on Wednesday and her hcg level dropped to 3500.they said they may have to do a D&C. I am wondering if we should wait a bit longer to see if there is any growth. AM VERY WORRIED BECAUSE I KNOW IF THE BABIES DIE INSIDE OF HER IT COULD BE VERY DAGEROUS. but the thing is, she is not getting any pain and the bleeding eased. what should we do

Sudden drop in the level of serum hCG level indicates non viable fetus or there has been a mis carriage. In both cases it is very important to remove all the tissue from the uterus doing D and C as it can be dangrous and can cause infection thrombus and possible emboli in mother's blood.
I am really sorry to say and strongly suggest not to wait any more. Do an ultrasound again and remove the tissues.
