Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 62 year old male and I just experienced a few drops of bright red blood after urinating. The blood did not look to be in the urine but came right after the flow stopped. I had no pain. Should I be concerned and maybe see a doctor? I currently take a blood pressure medication (Diovan 160mg twice a day).
Few drops of blood after urination may be due to bladder calculi, Bladder polyps. Since you did not have pain, infection is unlikely. You should consult an urologist, who would advise urine routine, urine culture, renal function tests, abdominal xray, and possibly an cystoscopic examination. This will diagnose the condition, and doctor can advise you on the management.
