What Does Bleeding In The Outer Corner Of The Right Eye Indicate?

I noticed there is bleeding in the outer corner of my right eye tonite but I have no pain. I have not injured it and I wear eyeglasses most of the time for distance. It does not hurt but I am just worried the bleeding might get worst. I am 66 years old female. Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

It is most likely subconjunctival hemorrhage.
It may be due to Blood thinking drugs, low Platelet count or other bleeding disorder.

In such a case I may suggest to consult your doctor for detailed physical examination.
Depending upon it following investigations may be suggested :
- Complete blood count.
- Prothrombin time.
- Bleeding and clotting time.
If there are signs or symptoms if systemic disease accordingly further evaluation may be needed.

Treatment is to find out underlying cause and to treat it.

Hope this helps.
