What Does Blood In Stool Indicate?

On Wednesday I had a heavy meal in lunch and dinner. Since then I am feeling uneasy and on thursday morning I found little blood in my stool. Is it due to my unstable stomach and if so then prescribed a normal medicine order to over come this problem.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Now, if you are older than 40, blood in stool needs to be investigated with a colonoscopy. Additionally, if you have pain while passing stools, it could mean that you have a fissure that is causing the bleeding. In the meantime, you could take a pantaprazole to protect against stomach/ duodenal ulcers. If you notice blood in stools again, you should visit a GI doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
