What Does Blood In Urine And Vaginal Itching Indicate?

Confused by my urinalysis. Have had a trace of blood and this time 1+ for years now since 2003. This was not a clean catch and showed occult blood 1+ Leukocyte esterase 2+ and white blood cells 6-10. However, Rbc s none seen, and no bacteria. I am post-menopausal for many years and have had an itching problem that bleeds sometimes around the outside of the anus. I thought you needed to see at least 3 rbcells to determine microscopic hematuria?

Hi,
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Thank you for posting in HCM.
Hematuria can be defined as the presence of 5 or more red blood cells per high-power field (HPF) in 3 of 3 consecutive specimens (after Centrifugation) obtained at least 1 week apart.
Your symptoms are most likely that of a Urinary Tract Infection.
I suggest such patients to send urine sample for culture and sensitivity before antibiotics are prescribed.
However after the sample has been sent, i suggest the use of Tab Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily for 7 days along with local application of Clotrimazole ointment.
If there is associated burning sensation during urination i suggest the use of Syrup Citralka (that has disodium hydrogen citrate as an active ingredient) two tsp thrice daily with plenty of water.
