What Does Blood In Urine While Suffering From Kidney Stones Indicate?

Sonic gram reviled a lot of kidney stones and possible bad gallbladder . and blood test reviled blood in urine and a higher than normal fatty liver . I am on lantus @28 dose shot once a day for diabetes and on trilopix 135 dose once a day . no other medications . It was suggested to go see a Gastropod /stomach doctor and a urologist . Which should be more important to look into first due to limited funds and coverage , or do both need immediate attention ? , thank you Garry

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I want to know the size of the kidney stones. The blood in urine happens because the stone moves into the urethra and is stuck there so any strain during urination causes bleeding.

If the stone is less than 5 mm then drink lots of water, it will pass in the meantime. If it's more than 5 mm then you'll have to get a surgery done.

Also, the fatty liver got nothing to do with the kidney stones and gall stones do not cause blood in urine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jinela Desouza
