What Does Blood In Urine While Suffering From Ovarian Cysts Indicate?
Hello my 18 year old daughter had bad stomach cramps 3 weeks ago, we took her to the hospital where 2 cysts on her ovaries were identified. She had a follow up visit with a gynecologist who did blood work and discovered there is blood in her urine. We just got an apt with a urologist on Friday but she is in a lot of pain and the Ibuprofen has no effect any more on her Any ideas as to what is wrong?
I do not think that ovarian cysts have to do with blood in urine. Ovarian cysts are common among girls at around that age.
Blood in urine associated with pain may be due to a urinary infection that is more common in Girls than in boys, or kidney Stones.
I suggest you to do your daughter a urinary analysis and a complete blood count to see for a possible infection. She might need antibiotic for some day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Anila Skenderi
