What Does Bloody Nasal Discharge Indicate?

I have had bloody mucus from nose for last 4-5 days, today i had a bloody nose that I got stopped. I am on blood thinner Coumadin, had my monthly check up last week and was 1.9. Wondering if I should stop blood thinner for a day or two, use netty pot, or try some flonaze to help with this. It seems to only happen in the morning and I do have humidifier working in bed room and on furnace. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Please recheck for INR if it is under control. Avoid excessive sneezing and avoid making nasal cavity to dry. Use local vasoconstrictor sprays to shrink blood vessel.

If INR is high, then half dose of Coumarin can be provided or consult your doctor. In case of emergency, the doctor may advice to give vitamin K injection or do nasal packing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
