Hi, I am a 58 year old male, with metastatic renal cell carcinoma, diagnosed in 2006. I have had a number of treatments, the most recent being an application of Interleukin-2 a one treatment over a five day in-patient session. Following this I suffered from shortness of breath and remained in hospital for a further week with little improvement. I was prescribed Fluconizole but this has no noticeable effect. There is a non-painful, persistent and generally non-productive cough, although a couple of times I have brought up what appears to be a small worm-shaped mucous coated blood clot, maybe an inch and a half long. I am breathless with the smallest exertion, although I recover quickly and my Ventolin helps. Cause of the breathlessness and suggested possible remedy? I am due for a second dose of Interleukin-2 but they will not administer it until the breathlessness issue is resolved. Many thanks. Graeme Hills.
