What Does Brown Spotting While Trying For Pregnancy Indicate?
Hi I am 28 yrs old. I have a regular cycle of 29-30 days. We are trying for a baby. This month from day 20-25 I had brown spotting. My periods was due on October 1 but I have been getting spotting from day 20-day 36. My home tests are negative. Today I have bleeding which I am not sure is a period or early pregnancy bleeding Could u pls tell if I could be pregnant Also I am taking folic acid tablet. Is that the cause for delayed period? Today is my day 37
Intake of folic acid doesn't cause a delay in getting periods. Discharge of brown colour blood indicates the outflow of old or retained blood.
Since you are unsure of bleeding and getting negative tests for pregnancy, it would be advisable to undertake ultrasound scan of the abdomen, to know what could be the cause for these symptoms.
Kindly consult Obstetrician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
