Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Burning Abrasion With Irritated Skin On Foot Indicate?
I have this abrasion on the top of my foot and it is seeping and several layers of skin are missing. It s about an inch long and a half inch wide. Around this abrasion the skin is red and irritated. I causes a burning sensation. I have not sustained any type of injury to me foot to cause this. My other symptoms include joint pain, in most major joints, moderate to severe pain in my thigh muscles ( I have not been doing squats), feeling lethargic, tired. I am a 50 year old male. I don t smoke, drink or do any drugs. I am not on any medication. I have been very healthy.
In my clinic I have seen many such cases. I usually start with detailed discussion to understand nature of symptoms, family history and other physical examination. We will have to take some investigations like CBC, Rh Factor, uric Acid, ECG, blood pressure and other assessment depending on problems. I would consider some pain killers like Nimesulide in safe dose to get some relief for my patient till I reach some diagnosis. I would suggest a rheumatologist can tackle problem more efficiently
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
