What Does Burning Sensation In The Right Thigh Indicate?
HI MY NAME IS JAYMES FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS I HAVE BEEN HAVING A BURNING SENSATION IN MY RIGHT THIGH IN THE FRONT. WHEN I LIE DOWN IT HEATS UP AS IF I HAVE A HEATING PAD ON IT. DURING THE DAY ITS TENDER TO THE TOUCH. ALSO AT NIGHT IF I SHOUD GO TO RUB IT I GET A TINGLING FEELING AND IT SEEMS TO TRAVEL DOWN. ITS ALSO IS NUMB IN THAT AREA. WHAT SHOULD I DO? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
Burning or tingling sensation is usually related to abnormal function of the nerves in the area. Abnormal function of the nerves is called nephropathy. It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.
You would need a physical assessment by your doctor and blood tests to determine the cause. Causes can include-
(1) Diabetes
(2) Liver or kidney disease
(3) Side effect of medication
(4) Trauma
(5) Low levels of vitamin B12 or Folate tablets
(6) Thyroid disease
(7) Abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(8) Infection such as shingles
(9) Exposure to toxins
(10) Some autoimmune conditions such as RA or lupus
I hope this helps
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
