What Does Burning Sensation Under The Tongue Indicate?
hi, last month i smoked about 6 cigars with no inhaling just puffing within a 2 week period then in these past two weeks i dipped about twice a day. I put one in about thirty minutes ago and i noticed the bottom side of my tongue was stinging/burning... is this a bad sign? ive never used tobacco products in my life until the cigars. Im an 18 year old male
Burning sensation under the tongue when dipping is not a good sign for sure.
It is because the burning sensation seems to be due to inflammation and irritation of the mucosa.
Continuous rubbing of the mucosa with the dip and the chemicals released can cause ulceration of the mucosa..
So my suggestion is to stop dipping.. You can apply Lidocaine gel over the area along with a steroid ointment like Kenacort for relief.. Do warm saline gargles and take soft and bland diet.. If there is no improvement consult an Oral Physician and get a clinical examination done..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
