What Does Burst Of Energy And Alertness In Old Age Indicate?

My grandmother is on hospice, she is very tired, not eating much, drinking water still, and making comments about needing to get things in order. She gets a burst of energy and is alert and awake. We have stopped administering medications. Does her symptoms indicate she will pass away soon?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Fatigue and decreased appetite can be indicators of impending demise but the time frame may vary from one person to the next.
It would depend on her health conditions and general medical health.

The intermittent periods of increased alertness do not provide any additional information in determining when she may pass.

Her doctors would be the best persons to let you know about her probable prognosis.

I hope this helps
