Hi, due issues with bowels, fatigue, weight gain, back ache i was asked to provide blood and stool samples for testing. My understanding is that checks were taking place for thyroid and an infections. A week following samples being provide i have been asked to repeat bloods and the letter was noted calprotectin. I havent been told there was an issue so am i safe to assume that this is a precautionary repeat or due to contamination of iriginal results.
Respected user, hi * Calprotectin is a stool test that is used to detect inflammation in the intestines like some bacterial infections, inflammatory bowel disease etc. * If the repeat sample they have taken is -ve then relax Hope this clears your query.
