What Does Change In Menstrual Pattern Indicate?

My period was a little bit late, only a few days, and instead of a normal flow like usual, i have pink watery discharge only when I wipe, I have hypothyroidism and also have been taking progesterone medication for a few months now. I have never had sex though. So I m really scared since sometimes pink discharge is a pregnancy symptom. I have been sick recently and have had a lot of stress. So maybe my hormones are imbalanced? I don t know! I really don t want to be pregnant.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

If you are not sexually active, nothing can make you pregnant. So please relax.

Hypothyroidism is one of the major causes of changes in menstrual patterns. Hormones play a vital role in normal menstrual period. You are also taking Progesterone and hypothyroidism adds on.

Stress due to a disease or some other reason also cause menstrual irregularities.
Implantation bleeding is an early sign of pregnancy in some moms. But you are not sexually active, so relax. Its not that bleed.

Consult your gynaecologist for reinforcement of the above discussion.

Hope I answered all of your queries. Any concerns feel free to contact me. If satisfied, please give a five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
