What Does Chest Pain Along With Shortness Of Breath Indicate?
My husband has been diagnosed with the flu on Wed and has been prescribed Tamiflu. My question is that he is complaining of chest pain and unable to take deep breaths. He also has a BP of 153/100 last night and 150/100 just now, which is high for him. Esp the 100. Should I be taking him to the ER?
In swine flu and bird flu-like viral infection when severe chest pain and dyspnea can occur because of bronchitis or pneumonia-like condition. For that further workup needed in the form of the chest x-ray. Complete blood count (CBC) also should be done. Tamiflu can lead gastritis as well for that pantoprazole prescribed. For high blood pressure, the antihypertensive medication started. Consult pulmonologoist for examination and discuss all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
