What Does Chest Pain On The Left Side Indicate?

I have had strong pain/discomfort in my left chest right below the breast for about 15 hrs. Also significant gas and burping. Cant relate this to any food i have eaten. Female age 62. Also have 4.3 cm ascending aortic aneuerysm and valve i sufficiency. Could the pain be something other than gas? Just took 2aspirin.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI and welcome to ASK A Doctor service. I have read your question and here is my advice.
In fact such discomfort may be becosue of gas or stomach , but the site of the pain , and it's persitent nature ie more then 15 hours , and in ci text of significant medical history that is valvular probelm and aneurism , in would personally advise you should not take it too easy. You should go to the ER earlier then latter to be fully examined and get few tests done so that we are sure that all is fine.
Hopes I have answered your question. I will be glad to answer any further question about this.
kind Regards
Dr Rahman
