What Does Chest Pain On The Left Side Indicate?

Hi, My name is Toni. I am a 46 year old female. I have been experiencing pain in my upper left chest, right behind my left breast. The pain goes all the way through to my back. It feels as if someone is taking their fist and putting it through my back, into my chest and pulling relentlessly. Now, the pain is radiating down my left arm. At times it feels like I m having electrical shocks in my left hand and my pinky and ring finger. This has been happening off an on for a while now, and when I went to the hospital ER back in October, they found no issues. I would also like to state that I was in the hospital in June of last year for a TIA, and at that time, they found an aneurysm in my brain. I m frustrated from going to the hospital time after time to only be told that they didn t find anything, but I still feel like carp. My energy level is so low right now. I don t have the desire to do any of the things I used to. My body hurts and I m always tired. Walking up stairs does a number on me! Can anyone help or suggest what direction to go? Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms could be the result of an Angina, So it's very important for you to go to the nearest medical center for clinical assessment by a cardiologist, routine laboratory tests, and other investigations:

1- ECG of the heart and stress ECG.
2- Echocardiography.
3- Cardiac enzyme.
4- Chest X-ray.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
