What Does Chest Pain On The Right Side Indicate?

Hi, I have had a diagnosed arrythmia since July this year and take Metroprolol which has stopped the palpitations. However I have today had pin-prick-like pain firstly on my chest right side (only once) but now repeatedly on my left side of the chest in the heart area. They last only 4-5 seconds, and there are no other symptoms. Can you help please - should I seek medical help. Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a clinical exam by your treating Doctor and do few tests like this [CBC, Liver function Tests and USG whole abdomen]

2)Take medication as usual and your present problem is not due to heart.

3)Discuss with your Doctor about [ibuprofen]if you have pain.

Do follow few lifestyle modifications like this -

1)Use heat try placing hot compresses or a heating pad on the painful area several times a day. Keep the heat on a low setting.

2)Take rest. Try to avoid activities that make your pain worse.

3)Discuss with your treating physio about [Stretching exercises]for chest muscles.

Hope that helps
