Hi,
Thanks for using HelathCareMagic.
Paracetomal is not the specific medicines to treat headache. It just relives pain.
As you have not describe details of type of pain and associated symptoms, I would like to inform you about differential diagnosis.
You may have headache due to refractory errors,
sinusitis,
cluster headache or migraine.Detail history and examination needed to reach to conclusion.
Difficulty in vision can be check e by
refraction assessment by an ophthalmologist. If it is there ,it can be corrected by specs.
To check for sinusitis (as you have stuffy nose), x-ray PNS(Paranasal Sinus) required.
If it is there, antibiotic course ans anti allergic medicines required for the treatment.
As it is around the eye and if eye becomes red and lacrimation there, possibility of cluster headache.
And if you feel nausea,
photophobia,
phonophobia or some weird sensation before or during headache, it may be migraine.
For both above types treatment falls in two categories.
One is primary prophylaxis in which
propranolol, fulnarizine or amitryptiline like medicines should be taken daily to prevent headache to occur.
Other is secondary prophylaxis in which Triptan or NSAIDs(like paracetomal you are taking) group of medicines taken as soon as headache starts.
Nasal spray also available of triptan.
3 years of headache is long duration. Please go to doctor for detail evaluation and specific medicines.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Soanki.
