Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What causes clear urine? I know drinking a lot of water can cause this. I have clear urine most of the time. I do drink a lot of liquids--hot green tea and decaf iced tea plus water. Probably around 64 oz. most days. Could clear urine indicate a disease, etc.? l
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The ideal healthy urine color is actually a straw yellow color. Clear urine that does not appear to have any color can mean that you are healthy and have a well-hydrated body, but it could also mean that you are over hydrated and risk water intoxication (water poisoning) or you may even have diabetes. If you find you’re always thirsty, not just occasionally but frequently thirsty, then take a diabetes test.
So i tall depend on how much water do you drink If you are drinking more than a gallon of water (about 12 glasses of water) a day, then you may be drinking more than normal. Be careful that you don’t drink too much water, or you may be at risk of water intoxication. If you urinate more than 3.5 quarts a day, than that is higher than normal.
Wishing you good health.
