Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Crawling Sensation In The Left Ear Indicate?
I have a sensation in my left ear that is like worms crawling around. It is not inside the ear. It is along the side of my face at my ear. Perhaps a nerve that runs through the area? It is not constant, yet appears often during the day and evening.
As per your query, you have symptoms of crawling sensation in the left ear which is due to a fungal infection which sometimes remains persistent and leads to debris formation and crawling sensation.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you do warm saline gargles, take steam twice a day, and maintain complete hygiene of the ear canal. You should also apply warm dry compresses to the external ear.
You should consult an ENT specialist for a proper diagnosis. The Doctor may examine with an otoscope to check the level of infection. The Doctor may prescribe antibiotics such as Levofloxacin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti-inflammatory medicines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
