Hello Dr. I am 30 years old having back pain and leg pain for past 2 yrs, recommended to take Lumbar scan, My reports are forwarded for your consultation. Small posterocentral protrusion at L5-S1 level with out any canal compromise / compressive neuropathy. Degenerative irregularity with schmorl"s node at anterosuperior corner of L1and L2.
Hi, Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. Your MRI report suggests some mild age related degenerative changes. As we age, there are some changes in the spine which are seen. There are some mild disc bulges at L4-5 and L5-S1 levels but it is not causing significant problems. Schmorl's node is degenerative changes in which the intervertebral disc invaginates into the nearby vertebra. There is nothing to worry about it. Usually we don't mention it in impression of the report also. At 30 years, its very early to get these changes. You should undergo physiotherapy which will help you in improving your backache and leg pain. It will also help in controlling the degenerative changes and prevent further degeneration. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards, Dr. Pankaj Nagori Specialist Radiologist
