What Does Delayed Periods With Brown Discharge And Cramps Indicate?
My tubes been tied for 5 years now and last month which marked the 5th year I had really bad cramps and back pains. this month my cycle was 8 days late then I had a nasty brown discharge then nothing woke up today I see blood but it s like orange color with mucus clot and bad pain please what could it be? Thank you
Occasional delayed periods may not be cause for concern. It may be due to stress, increased weight, drugs, poor sleep or aging, etc. The color of the discharge during the menstruation depends on the duration of blood that is released. Blood that are old can react with oxygen and oxidized to brown color. Bacterial vaginosis may cause orange blood. Sometimes, frank blood may appear in menstrual flow.
Hormones play important role in controlling the menstrual cycle from the development of egg to fertilization to menstruation or conception and carrying. When there is any changes in the level of hormones either due to stress or due to medication can cause irregular periods. Consult a gynecologist, if you have irregular or prolonged periods for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
