Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On my recent echocardiogram they found diastolic dysfunction. I have just been super involved in extensive exercise this year and now my doctor is saying he is not sure my heart can handle it. What does diastolic dysfunction mean? I have also been diagnosed with Prinzmetal angina and was wondering the relationship between these two conditions. I went to the doctor because I was having a lot of chest pain, shortness of breath, and my left arm was going numb.
The relaxation function of the heart is impaired mc that means the heart fails to relax and which might affect the pumping action. Consult a cardiologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
