Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Dilated Ventricle In ECG Report Indicate?
I just received a copy of my echocardiogram and it states that the right ventricle is mildly dilated. the left and right atrium is moderately dilated. There is a trace of mitral regugitation. There is mild trcuspid regurgitation. The aortic valve is trileaflet. Moderate pulmonic valvular regurgitation. The pulmonic insufficiency jet is very eccentric.
Dilated ventricle means that your right ventricle in the echo report is a bit larger than normal. Dilated ventricles almost always happen if there is a problem with the valves on that particular side which is the case with the echo report that you have posted. Pulmonic insufficiency, pulmonic regurgitation is and tricuspid regurgitation is causing the dilated right ventricle and you need to follow up with your cardiologist on this.
