What Does Discoloration Around A Lanced Lump Indicate?

I was diagnosed with left breast cancer in December of 2012. Had surgery 1/ 2013, then radiation for 12 or 14 weeks. Clean bill of health. A couple of months later, I developed a lump which eventually burst & puss came pouring out. Most recent mammogram clean. Now I have a pink area around the site. Should I be worried?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It may be lymph node, swelling of limb due to lymphatic blockage or boil with rupture etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your surgeon, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
