My lips are pink naturally bt recently my lips are greyish nd flaky nd when i touch them it seems as if they are burned i.e nt smooth what is the cause nd how should i treat them? I also applied a mixture a sugar honey nd coconut oil bt no effect it turned more greyish nd flaky
As per our query, you have symptoms of discoloration on the lips which is due to hormonal changes, side effects of cosmetic products and due to excessive production of melanin pigment from melanocyte due to excessive sun exposure.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to stop using all the cosmetic products that you are using at present. Drink plenty of water and apply aloe Vera gel on lips.
You should start washing face with wash containing benzoyl peroxide with cold water and apply cream containing kojic acid (kojivit) after washing area twice a day.
If condition does not improve in a month then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation. Doctor may prescribe isotretinoin, retinoid and recommend procedure like chemical peeling and laser therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
