What Does Discoloration Under The Toenails Indicate?

My great toes on both feet are looking like discolored and they look like dried blood under the surface of my toenail. I am a diabetic. I can not get my sugars under control. I have not suffered any trama to my toes. At first it was one foot then the other/ They have been like that for about 2 or 3 months.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It's suggestive of onychomycosis. Onychomycosis is the fungal infection that affects either the fingernails or toenails apparently resulting from poorly controlled diabetes.

A dermatologist's opinion is advised and your doctor may prescribe an oral anti-fungal medication, such as Terbinafine, Itraconazole or Fluconazole.

You also need to take the antidiabetic medications to control your blood sugar.
