What Does Discomfort In The Left Leg Indicate?

Hello and thank you! I have an odd sensation on my left leg, running essentially the lateral side behind the knee and into the hamstring. It feels as if someone is blowing bubbles , happens somewhat consistently every five or so minutes. Has been happening for several weeks. I am in very good health, no conditions, good blood pressure, good body weight (5 10 , 145lbs), exercise regularly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your description, I assume your symptoms are most probably jerking sensation of muscle. It is due to hypokalemia (reduced K+ Jon level in blood). Please check the serum electrolytes level. Hypokalemia can be due to decreased water intake, kidney damage or due to drugs like thiazide diuretics. Are you on any medication? If yes, then consult a physician regarding your problem. Does your daily water intake is less than four to five liters If yes, then start drinking one glass of water every half an hour?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regard,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
