Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my father in law has some prostate discomfort. Someone suggested the use of Webber Super Prostate. I am from a biotech/clinical research background and from my understanding of the literature, I am not sure if this has been clinically tested. My in law is on medication for diabetes, an the claim is that the API does not interact with other prostate medication. I am not sure if such information is available of the final formulation. Also, if information is available for interaction with diabetes medicine. From my understanding diabetes may also affect the urinary tract and this API may alter the efficacy of Alpha blockers. Would you be able to shed light on if this would be advisable for him to use and what are the risk factors? I am not entirely certain of his condition or the diabetes medications/dosage he is taking.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
These symptoms indicate in most cases prostate issues such as prostatitis or hypertrophy and rarely it may be sign of STD infection. You should avoid intercourse for till symptoms persist and drink plenty of fluids. If symptoms persist it would be good to do prostate ultrasound and check your PSA levels to rule out prostate tumor or hypertrophy and further treatment depends on these findings. In most cases it can be controlled with medications but sometimes, in case of tumor, open surgery is required. So you should consult urologist about appropriate options.
Hope I have answered your query.
