What Does Discomfort In The Right Leg Indicate?

Hello. I recently traveled abroad and noticed discomfort in my right leg toward the end of the trip. I feel as though I ve strained a muscle or tendon. The pain initiates on the back side of my right leg (behind the knee cap) and then shoots down my calf. I am fine walking or standing or laying down with the right leg extended, but when I go to bed it or get up from a seated position, the pain kicks in. Any idea what this might be and if I need to see a physician, do I need a specialist or internal medicine physician? Thank you! George

Hi george,
Thanks for the query.

I feel its just a muscle spasms. Any simple muscle relaxant will help you to come out of this problem.

Since you have not mentioned about your age. Older age group people mite develop DVT on prolonged sitting.

Use muscle relaxant for few days, if it doesnt reduce. Kindly get a venous doppler of the lowe limb to rule out any clots. IF this is normal, you dont have to worry. Rest and muscle relaxant will help you come out of the problem.

Thank u
