What Does Dizziness After Lumpectomy Indicate?

my blood pressure is 115/52 right now. yesterday it was 115/30. Was very dizzy thought I was going to pass out. My normal blood pressure is around 115/80. I had a lumpectomy two weeks ago. I was feeling good up until the last few days. I am 56, very active, eat well. I am on many supplements from naturapath and have stopped dairy and very little meat. Should I be concerned.

Hi,

Dizziness after a lumpectomy may be due to several reasons, including changes in blood pressure, side effects of medications, or dehydration. In your case, the dizziness may be related to the changes in blood pressure that you have noticed. It is important to monitor your blood pressure regularly, and if it continues to be low or if you experience any other symptoms such as fainting, lightheadedness, or shortness of breath, you should contact your healthcare provider immediately.

It is also important to ensure that you are staying well hydrated, as dehydration can contribute to dizziness. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids throughout the day, especially if you are active or if you are in a warm environment. In addition, some of the supplements that you are taking may have side effects that can contribute to dizziness.

You should review your supplement regimen with your healthcare provider to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for you, especially in light of your recent surgery. Overall, it is important to follow up with your healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms and any concerns you may have. They can perform a physical exam and order any necessary tests to determine the cause of your dizziness and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
