What Does Dizziness Along With Nausea Indicate?

For the past week, from time to time, I have felt dizzy when lying in bed and turning my head, or sometimes when I m standing and have my head bent down, and sometimes when I sit up in bed. Also, not associated with the dizziness, occasionally I feel slightly nauseated, but not to where I m going to throw up. Should I be concerned? Also, I am supposed to start 30 days of oral steroids but don t know whether I should wait till the slight dizziness is gone.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can have positional vertigo or inner ear vestibulitis like infective condition. You need to do your Otoscopy ear examination. Betahistine can prescribe for that. Steroid help in relieving inflammation. Vestibular exercise is also beneficial. If it is BPPV then Epley maneuver useful. If no Otological cause found then cardiac cause should be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
