Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi yesterday as usual i was feeding my chickens in the morning after breakfast and leaned over to pick up something and when i stood up I became very dizzy. This was very unusual so I stood for awhile but it became worse. I quickly laid down on the grass. but the dizzyness was getting worse to the point that i became nauseated, vomited and could not stand up. My husband found me 10 minutes later still lying on the grass and slowly brought me home and i laid in bed all day with the same symptoms - dizzyness and nauseated. My blood pressure was checked and it was ok. My speech was not slurred nor was my left side numb - only dizzyness and nausea,The only medication i take is for high blood prssure 25 mg metoprolol. I am 69 years old. I am better today. Can you suggest?
hi mam,it can be a posterior circulatory TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK(TIA) that can present as sudden oncet of dizziness or loss of consciousness which is transient.other symptoms include sudden onset of black outs.so please do consult a neurophysician to rule out the above cause.another possibility is BENINGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO,which is not harmful and can be treated with vestibular sedatives.but make sure that its not any TIA by consulting a neurophysician.take care.bye.
