Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have taken 1 Advil PM and 2 regular Advil every night for 2 or 3 years for lack of sleep and arthritis. I am 68 and have recently started to have dizzy spells in the morning and linger on a little bit after my morning 2 mile walk. I m at work right now and feel ok but am concerned about feeling dizzy in the morning. Also, about 3 months ago I had a rash on my thighs and my buttock and also my upper arms that lasted for about 10 day. It did not itch. I m in excellent health in every other way...just wondering if taking Advil for so long could be causing this problem. I had a complete check up in November 2017. Thank you for your input.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, though Advil can't directly cause such sedation however baseline blood work up to rule low hemoglobin, EKG, cardiac and neurological examination may be needed alongwith thyroid profile. Keep up good hydration. Get a neurologist and general physician review if symptoms persist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
