What Does Elevated BP Along With Nausea And Dizziness Indicate?
I just learned my BP is 200 over 170 [unsure of last number] but today I had a massive dizzy spell where the room was going round & round, felt very nauseous and tried to vomit. It lasted for 4 hours. I have the Chills constantly and am dizzy a lot. What does this tell you? Ellie
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Suggestive of warning signs of impending stroke. Sudden dizziness, loss of balance or coordination, nausea, vomiting and trouble walking are all warning signs of a stroke due 'hypertensive urgency' (severe elevation in blood pressure).
You are advised to visit the emergency room of the nearest hospital for further management which also requires a reduction in blood pressure within 24-48 hours.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
